IBM moves all solutions development to India
IBM is centralizing all of its development operations for business solutions to Bangalore, India, and is spending $200 million to do it. The company had 23,000 employees in India a year ago; today it has 39,000 and the numbers are growing, officials said. They said the change is sparked by the business and technological advantages to centralization. Some of the design centers elsewhere will be turned into demonstration centers, which means those will also employ less technical, lower-waged people.
