IBM keeps supercomputer lead

IBM is holding steady as the top maker of supercomputers, and is hanging onto its current top spot with IBM its IBM BlueGene/L system housed at the U.S. Department of Energy's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. According to the Top 500 Supercomputers list, IBM holds nearly a 50 percent share of the top fastest system, with HP coming in second with 31 percent. The list ranks supercomputers by performance.
