Vendor and service negotiations are likely a task most tech leaders don't relish, and that's even if you have a good relationship with a vendor. Given all of the mobility and telecommunications needs that businesses have these days, many CIOs may soon find themselves trying to hash out solid agreements for quality service. It isn't easy, given that networks now carry voice, data, video, audio and messaging--all of which are critical needs. In fact, a recent survey reveals that telecom contracts pose the most long-term strategic confusion and biggest all-around tactical, day-to-day administrative frustration for CIOs.
