How to secure IM
Instant messaging is everywhere, and no doubt, widely used by employees at your workplace. It makes common sense for IT departments to have security systems in place, but recent surveys have found that most enterprises have neither the policies nor the technology for securing IM, even though it has become an email alternative for distributing viruses and other malware. There is software available--including appliances, hosted solutions, software modules or features of other web and email security systems--to protect against threats like viruses, worms, spyware and messaging spam.
