How to impress a job interviewer
There's a special art to the job interview, and most people don't know a thing about it. In this week's CIO magazine, details on how to handle an interview and get a job are outlined for any person seeking an IT position.
For starters, make sure you ask the right kind of questions. Don't ask questions that may surprise an interviewer or make it hard to answer. In other words, don't make the interviewer feel uncomfortable. That may be easier said than done. Here are a few winning questions:
- "How does IT fit into your business strategy?"
- "How does IT help the firm avoid cost, improve service and increase revenue?"
- "Do you have a strategic goal in mind for IT and its value proposition to the enterprise?"
At the end of the day, remember that you are interviewing the interviewer just as much as you are being interviewed.
