How AMD is working to grab market lead
In its continuing effort to gain market share and leadership in the PC chip space, AMD is busy at work with advancements for boosting power efficiency and battery life in computing hardware. It's putting the finishing touches on a "4x4" platform that will provide two four-core processors for a total of eight processing cores in one machine, and then there's the next generation of its AMD64 system featuring quad-core processors for servers, workstations, and high-end desktops. The beauty of the innovation? Each core will have the functionality to move frequencies to handle various workloads while conserving power.
