Hottest technology of the last decade
EWeek.com has come up with a definitive list of the 25 hot technologies that changed the first decade of the 21st century. It's a list that includes BlackBerrys and broadband. It also includes items we cannot even remember being without.
Take Twitter, for instance. "Twitter has been massively influential and changed the way we all communicate," the article says. And it's only been part of the tech revolution for the last couple of years. Then there's 3G broadband that has made it possible for smartphones, netbooks, laptops and mobile offices to get good Internet access pretty much anywhere. And don't forget about AJAX which makes it possible to build attractive and interactive web-based GUIs that don't need extra plug-ins or extensions.
It's great to look in the rear-view mirror and appreciate how far technology has advanced in just a short time. It's also exciting to get ready for the next decade to see what's coming next.
