Hitachi issues laptop battery recall

The latest company to recall laptop batteries is Hitachi, which is pulling 16,000 battery packs housed in the company's Flora 210W and Flora Se210 laptop PCs. While the company says it hasn't heard of any instances of fire or explosion, it's undertaking the Sony battery recall to give customers "peace of mind." The vendor's battery recall is just the latest in a long string of companies pulling Sony batteries from their devices after it was determined that the lithium-ion batteries can overheat and catch fire.
