High cost of security for remote workers
It might be a nice idea to let your employees telecommute. But it also can cost you money, according to a new poll by Cisco. The poll found that one-third of the respondents said they would have to increase spending by more than 10 percent over 2007 budgets to pay for security to protect remote workers. While there are definitely benefits to allowing remote work, Cisco says companies have to spend money to make sure remote staff do not compromise corporate security. And companies must make sure that the remote workers are educated about the security risks and know how to take the right precautions against security theft.
