Google will be launching a beta version of its web browser today, according to a blog post on Monday. Called Chrome, the open-source browser was revealed when someone apparently hit the publish button on a comic book introducing the it "a bit early." In the meantime, screenshots that offer a glimpse of some of its capabilities can already be found. A feature that caught my attention was the "Google Chrome task manager," which allows a user to monitor if certain sites are causing memory problems. Also, a "Google incognito" mode for more private browsing can be found.

The creator of the comic book introducing Google Chrome has put up a mini-FAQ on his site here. Watch out for the release of Google Chrome; updated information about the browser and its availability will be posted at the company blog here.
