The auction business is competitive and it's almost impossible to think that any new enterprise would challenge industry stalwarts such as Sotheby's. But one up and coming auction house is making some big strides thanks to a home-brewed management system run on Linux that is supporting more services and internal operations every day. As Roland Whitehead explains, going open source was primarily an economic decision but the flexibility of an internal crafted system is letting his company, Bonham, flex its business muscles more every day.
