GOA slaps agencies for weak privacy efforts
The General Accounting Office is taking the Justice Department, the Department of Homeland Security and two other federal agencies to task for not properly protecting Americans' privacy in relation to data collection and use. According to the GAO report, the federal agencies aren't meeting stipulated regulations and aren't making sure that third-party contractors involved in the data gathering are following privacy and security rules.
