Getting the IT department on the same page

Teambuilding is critical in all departments and it's no less important in the IT world. A successful teambuilding approach not only creates human bonds, but can result in better communication, higher productivity and greater job satisfaction. Strategies include motivating staff by clarifying the shared mission, defining the role of everyone in the group when initiating a new project, giving team members the authority to fulfill their responsibilities, building camaraderie through cross-training and mixing, holding occasional teambuilding exercises outside of the office and setting an example for the group.
