Get ready to pay more for special tech skills
If you want to keep you tech talent on board and happy, it's going to require extra compensation if staffers advance their skills. A new study by Foote Partners reports that more money for specialized skills is a growing trend in both the U.S. and Canada, yet the same is not true when it comes to IT certifications. The research firms says the gap between what a company is willing to pay for workers attaining certified skills compared to those who don't hold certification is getting smaller each year. What seems to matter most, and what employers are willing to pay for, are specific tech and business skills viewed as "most critical" to the company's businesses.
