Gaining your employees' respect

Not all managers deserve to be managers and even those who start out with good intentions can fall into bad habits along the way, gradually losing their employees' confidence and support. The result? Subordinates who believe that their leaders are ineffective, or worse yet, inept. Of course, no worker is good at everything--and that includes C-level execs. Often, there's one aspect of the job that you need to work harder at. If you don't, employees will seize on that weakness and exploit it, ruining morale. Try to fix your shortcomings, but don't forget that we're all human.
