If everything goes according to plan, a big and bendable e-ink display is set to be released before the middle of next year. First seen back in 2006, the screen is developed by Plastic Logic and is based on e-ink technology. At 8.5 x 11 inches, it is considerably larger than the current displays used in Sony's Reader or Amazon's Kindle. A spokesman for Plastic Logic noted that the panels can be flexed due to the fact that it does not use glass on the display. Other than being compatible with Microsoft office and PDF files, it also has an "easy gesture-based user interface." The reader is scheduled to ship in the first half of 2009, though a price hasn't been set yet.
