FierceGovernmentIT: Kundra takes leave as federal CIO

Hours after he gave his first speech in his new position as the Federal CIO, Vivek Kundra took a leave from his job because the FBI had raided his former office and arrested two employees under his supervision.

While the FBI said Kundra is not under investigation, the appearance was enough to prompt the Obama administration official to step aside while the probe continues into the DC office where Kundra had been the chief technology officer.

Kundra's sudden action puts the breaks on the Obama administration's efforts to move forward with plans to ratchet up technology and make it an integral part of many different solutions, including the economic stimulus plan and government transparency.
