FBI tech project under financial scrutiny
Was it only yesterday that we reported on how project budgeting, specifically poor budget planning, was a major reason for failed or stalled IT projects? Today's news brings word of how the FBI's Sentinel system project is some $57 million short. But FBI Director Robert Mueller--slated to address the Senate Judiciary Committee today on the tech initiative, which will replace the agency's ancient paper case management system--says the project is both on time and on budget.
