FBI squares off on online fraud
Online fraud has got the serious attention of the FBI, which, along with tech industry players, is pushing forward on a new project called Operation Identity Shield. One of several programs underway by the feds to fight online criminal activity, the initiative is aimed at trying to reduce the rising level of identity theft. The effort is just the latest in a series of collaborative taskforces between the federal government and the private technology sector.
