Facing economic realities
![]()
There are only two issues in the news these days: the presidential campaign and the economic meltdown. It's hard to ignore the presidential race because it is everywhere. It's impossible to ignore the economic woes because they affect you directly.
No matter where you sit in the IT arena, you are probably thinking about ways to save money and cut costs. Your clients are probably looking to do that, too, with better and cheaper IT products.
Many experts are sure that technology will be part of the solution for saving money, running companies more smoothly and presenting a seamless transition when it comes down to downsizing. Without technology, where would we be? Most likely, we'd be stuck in the 1970s, before the tech age became a reality and there were few ways to deal with a downturn except to ride it out.
There are very few easy answers on the best way to conduct your business in the wake of these economic uncertainties. But one thing is certain: stay the course, keep on plugging, and try not to throw your talented IT workforce overboard. Technology may not be the complete answer, but it is sure part of the solution. - Judi
