Annual growth in IT spending is increasing nearly 6 percent in the second quarter of this year, and one big factor is the growing confidence that IT is gaining in the enterprise. By consolidating redundant systems, one pub chain IT leader proved he was able to do more with less money, and another's effort to reduce IT management work by moving to thin clients reduced his overall management costs. These kinds of initiatives, say experts, are allowing organizations to loosen the tech purse strings a bit more.
