To say outsourcing is a touchy subject in the world of IT is an understatement obviously, yet it's an enormous topic to keep abreast of given its increasing use. A new report from the Delhi-based National Association of Software Companies states that India's exporting of services such as back office operations and call center support and technology jumped 33 percent in just one year. India's exports of software and services are predicted to grow by 27 percent to 30 percent through March 31, 2007, to a total of between $29 billion and $31 billion.
Yet not all is all rosy in the outsourcing segment and tech leaders would be wise to keep a close eye on how India is handling the marketplace crush. The report also notes that it's facing a huge manpower and labor shortage in just a few years and that its technical infrastructure may not be able to handle the increasing service growth rate. - Judy
