Don't leave software licensing to chance
If you don't keep close watch on your software licenses, it's easy to lose sight of what you have. Designate someone within your organization to keep track of software licensing issues and software use, in order to track annual costs. Other tips include avoiding automatic annual contract rollovers, conducting regular reviews of support usage, and making sure that termination clauses for maintenance include repayment of unused parts of the maintenance.
