Don't ignore security in outsourcing processes

There are many reasons why more and more enterprises are migrating to software-as-a service: cutting costs, reducing the number of non-critical tech tasks, streamlining business processes. But handing off the work doesn't necessarily mean that you're handing off the security aspect of the business process as well and in fact, experts say that organizations who outsource need to place more focus on security given the risk to data. A good first step is to ask your provider tough questions regarding their security practices and get some insight on what security issues they've had in the past. That way, there's no reason why you can't incorporate security needs into the service level agreement that gets put in place.
