Dell shows off lightweight laptop
Are you looking to make new laptop purchases for your company or perhaps buy a new lightweight model for yourself? Last week, Dell gave the public a glimpse at its new Adamo lightweight notebook, hoping it will be a possible competitor to Apple's MacBook Air. The laptop has an ultra slim design that makes it easy to hold, as demonstrated during a press briefing at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Michael Tatelman, vice president of global consumer sales and marketing at Dell, said Adamo won't be just a laptop, but a whole new brand name of luxury products. The company did not reveal further specifications of the laptop, with more product details to be revealed at a later date. The product will ship this quarter.
Dell also announced the Mini 10 netbook, which will include a 10-inch screen and a full-sized keyboard. Besides Adamo and the Mini 10, Dell said it is working on adding touch-screen capabilities as it gears up to support Microsoft's upcoming Windows 7 OS.
