Climbing the executive ladder

According to a new survey, CIOs are gaining in the executive hierarchy after years of being at the bottom of the executive food chain. The study, by the CIO Institute, found CIOs have begun leapfrogging over Chief Financial Officers, often making them second in command only to the CEO. These findings prove how critical CIOs have become to the structure of organizations, the study noted.
