Cisco hopes to bring consumer technology into the enterprise

While consumer sales account for only 10 percent or so of Cisco's revenues, John Chambers believes that the influence of this segment of the business is going to grow exponentially. Not only does he believe that the consumer line of business will grow at a 10-20 percent annual growth rate, he thinks that Cisco has an opportunity to cash in on a counter-intuitive technology transfer from consumers to the enterprise, as social networking, mobility, and video presentation technologies are absorbed by organizations in the private and public sectors.
