Cisco: Good security is up to the vendors
During his keynote address at this week's RSA security conference, Cisco chief John Chambers said something that most IT leaders already know: A majority of CEOs aren't focused on--or giving much attention to--tech security. And apparently that's OK, says Chambers, as company chiefs need to zoom in on business first. Good network security, tools and solutions are the primary responsibility of the vendors in the marketplace, says the Cisco leader, who advocates better integration. That's why Cisco is gobbling up tech companies left and right.
