CIOs still stuck on the nuts and bolts
CIOs are still focusing on the basics: IT/business alignment, process improvement and business continuity. That leaves them little time for more strategy-focused issues, such as cost control, project management discipline and using IT for a competitive advantage. These results, from CIO's "State of the CIO Survey," are oddly enough, directly at odds with CIO's findings that about half of CIOs plan to focus on growth and innovation this year. That number will allegedly swell to 80 percent by 2010.
