CIO ready for anything, even a pandemic
Battling and prepping for a potential pandemic isn't a typical challenge for most tech leaders, but it is for Priceline CIO Ron Rose. His company is in the business of helping people move around--travel and lodging--so he's made disaster preparation and recovery a focal point. As he says, it's a bit of a stretch that business could continue as normal if a true pandemic hit the U.S.; but he notes that it still requires business continuity attention, and within that scope, strong and various forms of communication need to be put in place. That work requires everything from making sure contact lists are up to date to adding potential backup network technologies such as Voice over Internet Protocol.
