China denies investigating Microsoft

The China State Intellectual Property Office has officially denied a report claiming that it's investigating software giant Microsoft for monopolistic pricing, further adding that it has no plans to do so. Similarly, Microsoft officials disclaimed any knowledge of such investigations. A company spokesman in Singapore said, "Microsoft is unaware of any investigation but is always willing to work with and cooperate with the Chinese government." I suppose the irony here is that the allegations only surfaced after reports by China's tightly controlled state media said that the government is investigating several software vendors, including Microsoft, for charging more for products sold in China compared to elsewhere.
