Business Week's hottest tech companies
Business Week is out with its list of the hottest tech companies for '09. The list includes companies you know well and a few that you may have never heard of. Amazon is number one for the third consecutive year and Oracle came in at number two. IBM ranked fifth. The truth is in the numbers. Some 43 U.S. companies made the list this year, up from 33 last year.
The magazine was aggressive in it's research for the ranking. It combed the financial results for tens of thousands of publicly-traded companies to find those that have done the best over the past year. It looked at total revenue and revenue growth among other aspects.
And many of the companies on the list stood out because of their strong stock-market performance despite the dismal financial climate.
