Business Intelligence software gets a boost
Suddenly, Business Intelligence software is hot. It's also essential for companies that are trying to track their sales, inventory and other operations. As the recession creeps into major industries across the United States, companies are leaning on this state-of-the-art technology to simplify the task of identifying new sales opportunities or areas to cut costs.
According to Business Week two recent surveys show that this software is taking off. A recent Gartner survey of more than 1,500 CIOs worldwide finds that BI software is at the top of their spending priorities in '09. Another survey by Forrester Research estimates the BI market will generate more than $12 billion in revenue in 2014, up from $8.5 billion in 2008.
