In the steady stream of news about data breaches and thefts, it's been mostly hackers accessing networks and data banks using good old-fashioned technology tools. But the most recent incident is a bit different--this time, burglars stole a server and two laptops from an office location, and the company is hoping that the target wasn't the data on nearly 1 million employees at American International Group, a major insurance company. The theft occurred back in March, but the company kept mum while investigating because they didn't want the burglars to know what type of confidential information was housed on the devices.
