Microsoft is putting big bucks and resources into what it envisions will be tomorrow's "information worker," by expanding its Center for Information Work--a company think tank for applying today's new knowledge into tomorrow's products and services. The vendor is focused on developing new applications that will automatically search and harness metadata to organize, orchestrate and identify common-sense relationships. It also hopes to create software that can grab content created on a subject and related search results and documents in other applications and push it right to the user. And that's just two areas under development at the center.
