Biometrics does more than shore up access security
There have been a few recent reports about how biometrics and radio frequency technology (RFID) are being grabbed up to replace password and magnetic security card approaches. The latest enterprises to implement the security technologies are Coast Guard operations, and not only is it shoring up security at facilities, but it's also helping the agency ferret out contractors with criminal backgrounds and risk factors.
