AT&T Web site hacked
Earlier this week it was Verizon; Now you can also add AT&T to the list of companies dealing with a data breach headache. According to the telecom vendor, hackers broke into one of its Web sites, stealing credit card information from nearly 20,000 DSL customers. The Web site was run and hosted by a third party company which AT&T refused to name; The telecom giant also refuses to talk about the attack itself, noting that it's undergoing an internal investigation. Experts say that the latest incident shows how corporate Web sites are increasingly vulnerable to malicious activity.
