Apple may have a job for you
Apple Inc. is always on the move and always innovating. Now it is looking to create new capacity to design its own computer chips, a move that could enable the company to offer exclusive features for its products, reports the Wall Street Journal.
According to the newspaper, Apple is building a new team--hiring engineers and other skilled IT professionals from the semiconductor industry--to create chips that will improve the iPhone, iPod and other products. The hope is to reduce power consumption, and add graphics circuitry to help its hardware play realistic game software and high-definition videos.
Among those joining Apple are Raja Koduri, the former chief technology officer of the graphics products group at chip maker Advanced Micro Devices. Apple is now trying to fill dozens of chip-related positions.
