AOL pushes out corporate IM service

AOL has finally done it--they've announced a corporate instant-messaging service for today's enterprises. Claiming it boasts great security and other features, such as one-click access to collaboration applications, the vendor says it's just the start of providing what today's businesses need to have secure IM in place. AOL plans to roll out "premium packages" that will come with a price tag and provide enterprise tech teams with an IM-management console and tools for meeting regulatory requirements. The one thing that won't be arriving fast, however, is interoperability with other IM services such as Yahoo and Microsoft. Maybe that's because those two vendors have already decided to join up their IM networks.
