Amazon.com experiences second outage

Amazon.com suffered another brief outage on Monday, this one coming on the heels of a two-hour outage last Friday that affected U.S. visitors. According to Keynote Systems, which monitors the availability of websites, the latest outage affected both Amazon's U.S. and U.K. sites. Because available data doesn't demonstrate any form of attack, Keynote's director of external operations, Shawn White, ventured that human error was the most likely culprit.

Not everyone was convinced though. Because the new outage came so close to Friday's, some are linking the second incident to Friday's outage, in which a sustained attack on the Amazon-owned Internet Movie Database--which uses the same IP address--was recorded. No matter what, any downtime at all won't bode well for the company.
