Presentation advice a la Steve Jobs

We've all had that moment in front of the c-suite honchos where you blank on what to say. But it's essential to learn how to stand in front of an audience and deliver a presentation that is spectacular.

Fortunately, CIO.com has a few pointers for every IT executive, from Carmine Gallo, author of a new book, The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs:

  • Don't talk too long because people get bored and tune out.
  • Don't overload the audience with too many PowerPoint slides.
  • Make sure you rehearse. Practice 10 hours for every one hour of the presentation.
  • Don't forget why you are there, and remember why the audience is there.
