A roadmap to putting BPM to work

Moving forward on business process management (BPM) requires two things upfront: Tech leaders have to have a good grasp of what the technology strategy can and can't do, and they have to assess whether it's a good fit for their organization before dropping a bundle on a solution. The first step is investigating your current processes, the trouble spots and how workflow is taking place. Then it's time to look at potential applications that can remove the hurdles and foster efficiency. Then, and only then, should you write out the check, say experts.
