Online advertising revenue is one key indicator for the state of the economy. Despite predictions that the recession will soon be over, market research firm IDC reports the worldwide market dropped 5 percent during the second quarter.
This year, online advertising revenue is nearly 14 billion, according to IDC. At this point in 2008, companies had spent $15 billion. IDC says the industry will continue to decline until 2010, and then it will start growing again.
