Multimedia software vendor Adobe has released details about the latest iteration of its flagship design product, Creative Suite 4. CS4, which is scheduled to ship in October, will be Adobe's first update to more than a dozen design and editing tools since predecessor Adobe CS3 was released some 17 months ago. CS4 will be its biggest software release to date, according to the vendor. Among other things, integration among the various applications has been improved to make the user interface more consistent. However, one of the most outstanding features will probably be that Photoshop CS4 can now tap upon the graphics processor of your PC for the first time. The graphics chip now will play a part in helping Photoshop CS4 zoom fluidly in and out, as well as in other tasks such as rotating the canvas. Support for 64-bit Windows is also offered.
