The economic downturn has created anxiety across the country and among workers in every industry, including the tech sector. A Workplace Insights survey found that about 81 percent of American workers are worried about job insecurity, with "issues of high gas prices and stagnant paychecks also on their minds."
The survey, released by Adecco, a firm specializing in workforce solutions, said workers need to think how they can best prepare and position themselves for success, given the bad economy and unstable job market. Current workers need to be flexible in the current circumstances of economic downturn. They should be forthcoming to easily adopt new roles. They should constantly strive to stay ahead of the competitive curve as many companies have combined positions and responsibilities to cut cost, Bernadette Kenny of Adecco told ChiefExecutive.net. Kenny also said workers need to perform well beyond employer expectations, and make sure their personal goals and objectives match that of their employer.
