TeamViewer® Announces iOS Apps for File Transfer Between iPhone®, iPad® and Computers
Users can now transfer any file from their mobile device to a computer (and vice versa)
Windows PCs as well as Mac® OS X Lion and Linux® systems are supported
TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TeamViewer (www.teamviewer.com), one of the world’s most popular providers of remote control and online presentation software, today announced new versions of its iPhone and iPad apps. The new updates provide support for transferring any file from an iOS mobile device to a computer (and vice versa). Windows PCs as well as Mac® OS X Lion and Linux® systems are supported.
When users want access to important documents, presentations or programs while on the go, they can now easily transfer, save and process them with the app of their choice, and those files even remain available when internet access isn't.
The new capability makes IT support and administration jobs easier as well. For example, with TeamViewer’s new iOS app, updates, patches and upgrades can now be easily transferred to a client's PC via iPhone and installed directly.
Transfer vacation pics, videos and other files from your home computer
In addition to the benefits provided to the business community, individual users can also now instantly access pictures, videos or music any time and transfer them to and from their iPhone or iPad. While you might expect to pay a monthly fee for such a service, TeamViewer is always completely free for private users.
TeamViewer’s new iOS update is easy to use: after starting the app, you can choose between a normal "remote session" or "file transfer". TeamViewer must already be installed on the corresponding computer. In order to optimally organize the files, new folders can be created where the files are to be saved.
In remote control mode, TeamViewer allows control of the remote computer via iPhone or iPad. The user sees the PC, Mac or Linux desktop on their touch screen and can, for example, make changes, open files or start programs.
"The option of transferring files from an iPhone or iPad is in very high demand by both professionals and private users," explains Holger Felgner, General Manager of TeamViewer. "The possible uses are diverse. Whether a presentation left on the office PC is desperately needed in a meeting or files need to be transferred to a home computer, the new feature greatly simplifies many processes and makes the user more flexible and mobile. Files no longer need to be uploaded to specific online folders, but are instead available any time."
