Open source integration company acknowledged by leading analyst firm within data integration market

LOS ALTOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Talend, a global open source software leader, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Visionaries” quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools”1 report. This recognition comes at a time when Talend continues to drive innovation with a holistic approach to integration, supported by its leading-edge Unified Integration Platform.

According to the report, which assesses the leading international providers of data integration tools based on completeness of vision and ability to execute, Gartner cites, “Business drivers, such as the imperative for speed to market, the agility to change business processes and models, and the desire to detect and harness patterns and capture events are forcing organizations to manage their data assets differently. Data integration capabilities are increasingly relied on to enable ‘frictionless’ sharing of data across all organizational and system boundaries, and to support a consistent and complete view of data.”

“With our enterprise-ready open source solutions, we’re able to address the needs of multiple facets of the integration market more comprehensively and more easily than other generally available offerings,” said Bertrand Diard, CEO and co-founder, Talend. “Vision and innovation have been driving not only our approach to holistic integration, but also our support of key trends such as the deployment of Cloud Computing and the push toward Big Data management. With all of this, and our accelerated growth, Gartner has recognized Talend as a ‘Visionary’ based on our vision and ability to execute.”

Talend products evaluated in the Magic Quadrant include Talend Open Studio and Talend Integration Suite.

  • Talend Open Studio is a powerful and versatile open source solution for data integration that dramatically improves the efficiency of data integration job design through an easy-to-use graphical development environment. It enables rapid deployment and reduces maintenance costs with prebuilt connectors to all source and target systems, with support for all types of data integration, data migration and data synchronization operations.
  • Talend Integration Suite is a subscription service that extends Talend Open Studio with professional-grade technical support and additional enterprise-class features. It is designed to support multi-user development, and to scale to the highest levels of data volumes and process complexity.

Gartner defines “Visionaries” as organizations that “have a solid understanding of emerging technology and business trends, or a position that is well aligned with current demand, but they lack market awareness or credibility beyond their customer base or a single application domain. Visionaries may also fail to provide a comprehensive set of product capabilities. Visionaries may be new entrants lacking the installed base and global presence of larger vendors, though they could also be large, established players in related markets that have only recently placed an emphasis on data integration tools.”

Gartner added, “The growing emphasis on aligning data integration tools with the market's demand for interoperability of delivery styles, convergence of related offerings (such as data integration and data quality tools), metadata modeling, support for emerging analytics environments, among other things, is creating fresh challenges for which vendors must demonstrate vision.”
