T-Mobile USA Awarded IRS Contract
BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- T-Mobile USA, Inc. today announced that the company has been awarded a multi-year blanket purchase agreement (BPA) with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
“More and more, companies recognize the advantages of having a completely mobile workforce that is able to work quickly and efficiently from nearly anywhere, anytime,” said David Pepe, divisional director, government solutions at T-Mobile USA. “For the IRS, T-Mobile is a partner that can make mobile productivity gains and decreased mobile expenses a reality.”
With typical download speeds that are on par with competing 4G technologies, and service availability in 75 metropolitan markets throughout the United States, the T-Mobile 4G HSPA+ network now offers a 4G mobile broadband experience to more people than any other wireless network in the country1. T-Mobile customers with 4G devices in these areas can now enjoy faster Web browsing, video streaming without buffering, and quicker downloads than ever before at no additional cost. The company is on track to deliver HSPA+ speeds to 100 major metropolitan areas and covering 200 million people in the U.S. in 2010.
The first major carrier to offer Wi-Fi calling, T-Mobile also helps enterprises take advantage of this technology to enhance domestic and international coverage, reduce domestic and international minute usage, increase enterprise mobility cost savings, and improve productivity benefits from open Wi-Fi access points across the globe. The company hosts approximately 40 million Wi-Fi calls per month.
T-Mobile’s agreement with the IRS was awarded under the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) schedule in place since May 2002.
1T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 4G network is not available in all locations. See coverage details at T-Mobile.com.
