AUSTIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ResearchPoint is proud to announce that it has been selected as a Showcase® company by SAP for its use of their product, Business ByDesign.  The company began implementation of the solution 11 months ago and continues to collaborate with SAP on the development of this SaaS (software as a service, also known as on-demand) offering for the small and mid company market.   

As the company grew, ResearchPoint recognized a need for a more robust solution to better scale and become more competitive in the marketplace.    Some of the important functionality of Business ByDesign includes business analytics, project profitability, and automated project billing.  “We now have greater transparency into our projects and across all operations of the business, allowing us to make faster decisions, saving both time and money for our clients,” noted Patti Charlton, CFO, ResearchPoint.  

The implementation team, led by Teresa Blackwell, ResearchPoint, staff accountant, began to see all the pieces coming together and commented that “project and financial reports are now completed and available online to management within 7 to 10 days, and we expect to shave more time off that in the future.  Prior to implementation, it took about 15 days from the end of the month to complete invoicing and make reports available to project managers.”

Charlton said that “people are often surprised that a company of ResearchPoint’s size, with just a single IT staff, is running SAP.”  She thinks SAP is making a good move by taking steps to change its image from solely a big company ERP solution.  “On-demand is a remarkable thing,” she said. “It allows companies of our size to get that big company functionality without the huge price tag.”  With this big company functionality, ResearchPoint has already heard several clients comment that this is a differentiator among other small to mid-size CROs.  They value the depth of detail and transparency into project management activities.
