Acquisition will grow the community for Apple iOS developers who want to access free and paid components, share information and learn from gurus

CAMBRIDGE, U.K.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Red Gate has acquired Cocoa Controls (www.cocoacontrols.com), the community site that curates content and congregates controls for developers using the Cocoa framework for Apple iOS.

Aaron Brethorst, founder of Cocoa Controls, will maintain his role of content curator and evangelist for showcasing custom UI controls for iOS developers.

“We want to see Aaron’s site get more love,” says Marine Barbaroux of Red Gate’s mobile team. “It has tremendous potential as a one-stop shop specific to iOS content. We think it can become the place for developers to download free content, buy and sell components, engage in discussion, rate controls, and benefit from the expertise of iOS gurus and practitioners.”

“I’m passionate about providing the means for the Cocoa community to discover new, exciting projects and helping terrific developers find a market for their work,” says Brethorst. “It’s obvious to me that Red Gate shares that passion, has the same vision for making the community grow and prosper, and can give Cocoa Controls a far-greater reach than I could on my own.”
